Markayla has always been drawn to poetry, creative writing, and visual storytelling.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Nazareth University, she ventured into professional roles in marketing and communications, digital and print layout design, and copywriting.
In 2019, Markayla penned her first poetry collection, Living by the Scribbles in My Head. Though the words came early, it wasn’t until late August 2023 that she found the confidence to share them with the world. Just months later, in early March 2024, she released her second book, Words in Verses.

This book is a collection of poems and illustrations with themes that represents second chances, learning to love yourself, loving others, relationships, self-care, and seeing beyond the ugliness of the world.
This book is meant to touch people who are going through life altering times, and feel deeply. This book is also meant to make you smile.
Words in Verses
Empowering, Vulnerable, Raw. Words in Verses is a collection of free verse poems. These poems are meant to show the beauty in the struggle and to help people understand themselves. Some poems are based on real experiences and some poems are fiction based on reality.
